The most important thing to look for when choosing a therapist is how comfortable you feel with that person.

Therapy is about forming a team with your choice of professional to help you meet your goals.  Whether you're working on feeling better, improving your relationships, or healing from past hurts, you will accomplish more in therapy if you feel like your therapist "gets" you.

In addition, therapy will be more helpful to you if you view our time together as a space to practice new, more effective ways of communicating and behaving.  Relating to ourselves and to others is often messy and complicated and sometimes we all need a compassionate person to coach us to become the best version of ourselves.

I draw from many different therapeutic theories, including cognitive, behavioral, solution-focused, and trauma focused strategies.  If you have found a particular strategy to work particularly well for you, please let me know.
